Roški slap and the upper Krka landscape

Roški slap is an upper-river Krka stop where small Ogrlice cascades, mills and a traditional fulling installation shape the visit. It belongs to a different part of the park from the Skradinski buk circuit. Choose it for that combination of water and working heritage, then decide whether your day is centred here or also needs a separate journey to the lower waterfalls.

The different locations matter when choosing admission. Roški slap is included in the full land-sites ticket and in the separate upper-sites ticket. The latter explicitly excludes Skradinski buk. A lower price can therefore reflect a different set of places rather than the same park day at a discount. The park overview helps place the entrances and upper sites before you select a route.

Ogrlice cascades and the watermills

A walk over the small Ogrlice cascades and a look at the mills are central to the Roški slap visit. The traditional fulling installation adds another example of work powered by moving water. Allow room for those cultural details instead of treating the site only as a photograph stop. Machinery and old mill buildings give context to the river even when you are not taking a guided tour.

The combined boat excursion from Skradinski buk via Visovac takes four hours and includes 90 minutes at Roški slap. That is one way of arranging a visit, with time at each stop built into the route. It differs from arriving by road and planning your own stay. The ordinary park transfer from Skradin ends at Skradinski buk; waterfall barriers prevent that same boat continuing directly along the whole river to Roški slap.

Upper-sites admission and what it covers

For 2026, individual adult entry to the upper land sites, including Roški slap, costs EUR 7 from January to March and November to December, EUR 12 in April, May and October, and EUR 20 from June to September. The upper-sites product has one-day validity, which describes the ticket rather than a guided tour duration. Choose the full land-sites admission if your plan also requires Skradinski buk.

Extra boat excursions are separate from that entry. The Visovac route and the fortress sightseeing boat should each be considered alongside the land visit, rather than as benefits of the upper-sites ticket. At the information date of 2 November 2026, Burnum is closed for conservation, so do not make it a planned stop simply because it appears within a wider ticket’s list of sites. See admission and opening times for the categories and calendar.

Laškovica parking and seasonal access

Road approaches to Roški slap are described from Skradin, Drniš and Knin. In summer, the park directs visitors towards Laškovica and Bogatić Miljevački parking arrangements. The Laškovica shuttle is free, with the shuttle season listed as 1 June to 30 September. Build the arrival around the seasonal access arrangements and local signs, rather than assuming a parking space directly beside the waterfall.

For a visit outside that shuttle season, keep the road approach separate from the summer service. Published visiting hours also change through the year. Roški slap has a year-round visiting calendar, with Christmas closures and shortened days on 24 and 31 December. Stinice is closed in January to March and November and December, which matters if a longer walk or island crossing is part of the plan. The arrival guide explains entrance choices.

Cave hike towards Oziđana pećina

The Stinice, Roški slap and Oziđana pećina trail is 8,500 metres long, demanding and not a circular route. The approach to the cave includes 517 wooden steps. Treat this as a hiking decision with a return journey or pickup arranged, rather than an incidental extension to a short mill visit. A ticket for the upper sites is not a guided cave excursion.

Keep the short sightseeing plan and the longer hiking plan distinct when travelling with children or companions with different walking needs. Remaining on marked routes protects both the visit and the sensitive landscape; avoid stepping onto travertine or disturbing plants and wildlife. The walking guide compares the park circuits with this more demanding route without presenting standard tours as cave hikes.

Krka Monastery and the fortress boat

Krka Monastery is an Orthodox religious place in Carigradska draga on the upper river, distinct from the Catholic Franciscan monastery on Visovac. Plan a monastery visit separately around current visiting arrangements. It should not be added to an excursion simply because the boat travels on this part of the river.

The 2026 return sightseeing boat from Roški slap names Trošenj and Nečven fortresses, viewed from the boat, and takes two hours. The additional fare is EUR 15 for an adult and EUR 10 for a child aged 4 to 18. That route does not include a Krka Monastery stop. Choose it for the river and fortress views, leaving any religious-site visit as a separate part of your itinerary.

Questions about your visit

Does the upper-sites ticket include Skradinski buk?

Skradinski buk is excluded from this ticket. Select admission that covers both areas if your day includes the lower waterfall circuit.

Is the cave trail a circular walk?

The 8,500-metre Stinice, Roški slap and Oziđana pećina route is demanding and not circular. Plan your return or pickup, including the 517 wooden steps towards the cave.

Does the fortress boat stop at Krka Monastery?

The 2026 route names Trošenj and Nečven, seen from the boat. It does not include a monastery stop; arrange that cultural visit separately.
